The big difference is that if the server goes down you don't risk losing your ship, but if you lose the connection the server doesn't realise it for a while. Jaabaa Prime	Posted - 2005.03.27 10:01:00 - [15] I think the reason that people are upset with the servers being down is because they are so used to them being up and running 23/7. So this sets a level of expectation on the server availability. It's been well over a year since the last time I saw these kinds of problems on the server, I think it was just after the castor patch, and once when a switch/router went berserk. I fully trust that CCP are doing everything in their powers to resolve the issue. Some really cool posts here on EVE's longest (if not that then fastest growing) thread. I would like to personally thank Wrangler for his support here, even if he did feel that he had to sleep. And the other mods too BTW. CCP, don't install the latest and greatest drivers, do not do a server "hot fix" or anything of the sort before a easter holiday. It's bad for business. This "event" enters the memorials of EVE history, along with everything that happened in the past few years (PS, can I have Arkanor back in empire ?). I think that A LOT of CCP employees and their bosses lost a lot of sleep over the "server anticts". I, for one, am glad to see it fixed. The servers IMO are doing what they should, the markets are workinging, and the forum vols can get a bit of well deserved piece and quiet.
